"Freedom is Popular"
We believe in the libertarian philosophy of small government, low taxes and personal freedom. With Australia, like the USA moving slowly relentlessly towards socialism the voice of Ron Paul has united disparate groups around the world who are equally concerned about the progression of increased government interference in their lives. We are looking for contributions to this site and in the true libertarian tradition will avoid heavy censorship and editing. We'll leave it up to readers to decide whether your contributions are of interest. Give us a week or so to configure the mail server and the other site functions and you'll be able to email articles or ideas to liberty@ronpaul2008.com.au or contribute to the forum which is about to be installed.
It is illegal for foreigners to donate to Ron Paul's political campaign (though the suggestion is that much of Hillary Clinton's funding has been channelled from mainland China through naturalised citizens) so if you're an Australian citizen you can't log into http://www.ronpaul2008.com and contribute. However I suspect ol' Dr. Paul would be happy just to know that the libertarian ideals and message of personal freedom he has pushed most of his life are being discussed in Australia.
Ron Paul has spent much of his life trying to increase peoples' awareness of libertarian ideals. While it is highly unlikely that Paul's push for the Republican nomination will succeed, more important is the fact that his message of personal freedom, small government and self reliance will continue to be presented to a new audience. For this reason we believe Dr. Paul will run as a third party candidate in the presidential race, not because he believes he can win, but because his campaign will continue to raise awareness of libertarian philosophy both in the USA and overseas, a philosophy to which he has devoted so much energy for much of his life.
